Israel Demolishes Six Palestinian Homes, Workshop in West Bank

(MENAFN) Israeli forces have demolished six Palestinian-owned structures, including homes and a carpentry workshop, across the occupied West Bank, leaving dozens of residents displaced.

According to reports, five of the homes were destroyed in the town of Barta’a, west of Jenin in the northern West Bank, where local officials said the demolitions affected multiple families.

Ghassan Qabha, head of the Barta’a council, said the structures were part of a wider demolition order targeting around 20 homes in the area on the grounds that they lacked building permits.

He noted that an Israeli court had rejected an appeal filed by residents challenging the demolition orders, which were issued on the basis that the buildings were constructed without permits in Area C, an area designated under the Oslo Accords.

Qabha said the demolitions have left dozens of Palestinians without shelter, describing the actions as part of what he called a broader policy aimed at forcing displacement from the town.
