One Killed in Gaza City Strike as Ceasefire Violations
The attack reportedly occurred on the second day of Eid al-Adha and is described as part of continuing ceasefire violations that have persisted since an agreement announced last October. According to reports, the strike involved a drone targeting civilians in an area behind the Imam al-Shafi’i Mosque. The wounded and the body of the victim were transferred to Al-Ahli Baptist Hospital.
Witnesses also reported simultaneous artillery shelling near the Sanafour junction in the Tuffah neighborhood in eastern Gaza City, indicating continued military activity across multiple parts of the city.
Earlier incidents were also reported in the same area, including a separate airstrike late Wednesday that allegedly killed 10 Palestinians, among them women and children, and injured others after a residential building near Omar al-Mukhtar Street was hit.
According to figures cited by the Gaza Media Office, hundreds of Palestinians have been killed and thousands injured since the ceasefire period began months ago, despite its formal declaration. The reports state that ongoing strikes have continued across the enclave, contributing to a worsening humanitarian situation.
The broader conflict, which escalated in October 2023, has resulted in extensive casualties and destruction across the Gaza Strip, according to Palestinian figures referenced in reports.
