Eight nations accept Trump’s invitation to join Gaza ‘Board of Peace’
"The Ministers announce their countries’ shared decision to join the Board of Peace," stated a joint release from the Turkish Foreign Ministry. The statement added that each nation would complete the necessary legal and procedural steps to formalize membership, noting that Egypt, Pakistan, and the UAE had already confirmed their intent to join.
The ministers reaffirmed their support for Trump-led peace initiatives and pledged to assist in implementing the Board of Peace’s mandate as a transitional administration, following the Comprehensive Plan to End the Gaza Conflict, which has been endorsed by UN Security Council Resolution 2803. The plan aims to consolidate a permanent ceasefire, support Gaza’s reconstruction, and advance a just and lasting peace rooted in Palestinian self-determination and statehood, thereby promoting regional security and stability.
The White House announced the creation of the Board of Peace last week, alongside the approval of a National Committee for the Administration of Gaza—one of four bodies tasked with managing the enclave’s transitional phase. Its launch coincided with phase two of a ceasefire that halted Israel’s war in Gaza, a conflict that has killed over 71,000 people and left more than 171,000 injured since October 2023.
