Lavrov Says Russia Presented with US Draft Charter on Gaza Peace Board
"We recently received specific proposals, a draft charter for this structure, and so on," Lavrov told reporters at a press conference.
Lavrov emphasized that, despite widespread debate over recent U.S. policies, Moscow considers the current White House leadership pragmatic in its coalition-building efforts.
"I assure you that the administration of (US President) Donald Trump --despite all the actions currently being widely discussed in the world -- is an administration of pragmatists. And it realizes the need not just to unite a large number of (countries) under its command, but also to fully take into account their legitimate interests," he said.
The announcement follows Donald Trump’s declaration last week of a new Board of Peace on Gaza. The U.S. president extended invitations to multiple nations, including Russia and Belarus, to participate in the initiative.
