Gaza infant dies amid harsh winter, child deaths from cold rise to nine
Reports say the child, seven-month-old Shatha Abu Jarad from the al-Daraj area of Gaza City, passes away after her heart stops because of exposure to severe low temperatures.
The death occurs as residents across Gaza continue to endure harsh humanitarian circumstances. Many families remain displaced, living in tents or densely packed shelters that lack essential supplies such as sufficient blankets, warm clothing, and heating, amid the ongoing two-year conflict in the enclave.
