Ceasefire Breach in Gaza Leaves One Dead

(MENAFN) A Palestinian civilian lost his life on Tuesday following an Israeli airstrike east of Khan Younis in southern Gaza. This incident marks yet another breach of the ceasefire arrangement that has been in place since last year, according to a medical source.

The same source confirmed that the deceased was transported to Nasser Hospital located in Khan Younis.

Eyewitnesses reported that the assault struck the town of Bani Suheil, a district from which the Israeli military had previously withdrawn under the ceasefire accord that began on Oct. 10.

Since the truce was enacted, the Israeli forces have carried out numerous infractions, resulting in the deaths of 422 Palestinians and injuries to 1,189 others, as stated by the Health Ministry.

The ceasefire brought an end to Israel’s two year offensive, which had claimed the lives of nearly 71,400 Palestinians—predominantly women and children—while injuring more than 171,200 individuals since October 2023. The campaign left the territory devastated and in ruins.
