U.S., UK Hold Talks on Ending Gaza Genocide
During the call, Rubio and Cooper “emphasized the importance of ending the war in Gaza by implementing President Trump’s 20-point plan for peace, securing the release of all hostages, and ensuring that Hamas has no role in Palestinian governance,” Principal Deputy Spokesperson Tommy Pigott stated in the official readout.
Trump’s plan, revealed on Sept. 29, calls for a comprehensive approach including a ceasefire, the exchange of all Israeli captives for Palestinian prisoners, the disarmament of Hamas, and efforts toward Gaza’s reconstruction.
The conversation also covered the protracted Russia-Ukraine conflict, with both diplomats agreeing to sustain diplomatic pressure “to bring the war to an end through a negotiated settlement and durable peace,” the statement added.
